Letter to my son

My dear little boy, today you're 200 days old. I enjoyed every moment since you came into our lives, I love your wonderful smile and sleeping through the night seems unreachable.

Baby weaning, theory and practice

The subject of "weaning" is at least as controversial and wide as breastfeeding. For a first time mum the start may seem quite difficult. It's something new for both, parents and babies, even if it's not the first child, because each of them is unique. We started a week before turning six months on January 6th. How do you know that baby is ready to start weaning?

A stormy night

Since I stay at home with Robert I didn't care too much about the weather. Ireland is a very rainy country, in the four years since we are here, we have experienced extreme weather. It seems to me that the umbrella can't help you, I have broken so many, some of them very strong, that I've lost the count. I prefer, however, to always have one with me, in case I need it, it'll take over from the "impact". The weather can be very changing, the clouds are passing with a phenomenal speed due to strong currents and the list can go on. There's a saying: "Don't you like Ireland's weather? Wait for 5 minutes! It can surprise you."

Let's talk (II)

The wonderful universe of books

I want to write today about a dear subject to me: reading. I do not remember many things from my first years in school, I can't say if this passion for books has always existed, the first book I have in mind is "Fram, the Polar Bear". I like to receive books as a gift, I'm like a child getting his favorite toy. Probably studying Foreign Languages in college wasn't by accident.

Is there a perfect mum?

Imagine preluată de pe https://www.lovekates.co.uk/
I was thinking about this question all night long. If so, how does she look, how is she behaving? Does she know how to do it all or is it the intuition that does the thing to the smallest detail?

31

The last year brought many changes in my life. Because I'm born in January, I try to remember what happened since the very beginning of 2017.

What to choose between WIX and Blogger?

From WIX to Blogger

Pros and Cons. Why I wanted to transfer my blog

I'll start with WIX. When I thought about writing a blog after a quick search on Google, their site was listed as the first option and because of the lack of time I chose them. At first glance, the features they offer are attractive.

Today's thoughts

Based on the idea that it would be boring if all days would be similar I realize that today is one of those days when nothing comes out. Robert is upset and moody since morning, probably because of teething. Would be great if he could say what upsets him. This is some kind of a real detective work and you have to be patient and calm. I barely managed to prepare his food and he was not even interested.

Let's talk (I)

What determined me to write again

It's Monday morning. A new week is about to begin. It's still early, it's quiet, I can only hear the wood burning in the stove and every now and then a car passing on the street. Robert is asleep. The two lower teeth that appeared early enough - when he was 5 months old I first spotted a tooth on his gum - I think they are followed by the top ones, we've had a rather agitated night with cries until late in night, it seems like his ear upsets him too.

The first 6 months

Breastfeeding challenges

Warning: This article contains information about breastfeeding and is not for shy people.

We've successfully achieved Robert's 6-months milestone. Speaking in general terms, the baby's first six-months period seems to me to be quite important in his development, bringing with it major changes. You can read everywhere that "breastfeeding the baby for the first six months is essential to your baby's health." That's what I've tried to do and I made it. Phew!

Special blog post

I want to make some space today on my blog to write about one of the most important person in my life that has marked my existence in a very pleasant way. She's one of my sisters, Georgiana - Andreea, a very happy girl, who enjoys all the simple things, no matter if that's a mobile call from time to time or the listening of a song from her favorite artist.

What parenting style should I choose?

When you have to chose a parenting style to be implemented in your own situation you need to have the ability to adapt it to the child's needs. I tried to have a prompt response to his needs, I've annihilated all cleanliness standards and perfection and chose instead to emphasize on the emotional stability of my baby boy.

Irish medical experience - my point of view

I had the luck to live in Ireland long before getting pregnant. My experience, with the pregnancy and later on with the birth, was a nice one, I didn't spend too much time in the hospital, I didn't need to, usually you could get the next appointment details at the end of the current one, they tried to call you in time or even earlier, all these were happening in an Irish public hospital.

Meet us - our story

  This is for you, Robert!

  Caution: Emotional blog post!

The first thing I would like to say is that I created this blog to write about motherhood. I adored this period since I was a child, I could see a perfect combination between the pregnant woman and the miracle and privilege of becoming a mom, from aspects like shiny skin and beautiful hair to the beauty of the pregnant body. I always wanted to be a mom.
